The authenticity of prophetic medicine
If Muslims have been the forerunners of modern medicine, it's because of their attachment to the texts of the Qur'an and the Sunnah, and this is what Imam As-Shafi'i explains when he says: "Science is of two types: the science of Fiqh for religion, and the science of medicine for the body; anything else is merely assembly discussion".

If Muslims have been the precursors of modern medicine, it's because of their attachment to the texts of the Qur'an and the Sunna, and this is what Imam As-Shafi'i explains when he says: "Science is of two types: the science of Fiqh for religion, and the science of medicine for the body; anything else is merely assembly discussion". He also says: "Don't live in a country where you don't find a scholar who answers your questions about your religion, and a doctor who informs you about the state of your body". In Islam, the health of the body is a fundamental necessity in people's lives, which is why Muslims are called upon to attach importance not only to their own health, but also to the health of society as a whole, so that Muslim society remains strong. This can only be achieved through the teachings of the Messenger of Allah, for health encompasses both the health of the body and the health of the heart, and only the science of the Prophets - revelation - brings these two things together to perfection. The Prophet's medicine is unlike that of doctors, for his medicine is certain, formal and divine, emanating from revelation, prophecy and the perfection of reason. Prophetic medicine is suitable for good bodies, just as the Qur'an is suitable for good souls and living hearts.
